Cross Over Into Rightousness

On crossover night, millions of people prayed to God for success in the coming year. On my way to my crossover service someone shared that many years ago, she left a night club with her friend to go the watch-night service and went back to the club immediately afterwards.

Seriously, there are some people who will be at a beer parlor drinking their favorite brand and when the clock hit 11:45pm they put out their cigarette, ran into the nearest church and prayed into the new year and went back to their pub. They might have even covered the beer and told the barman they'll be back shortly.

It doesn't matter, what matters is that, we all merged with one voice and spoke to our Creator and when the clock struck 12:00 midnight, we all celebrated.

This new year, many of us have mental notes that comprise of our aspirations for this year and next year, you will have another set of aspirations. Many people have sought prosperity all their lives only to discover there are still people more prosperous than them, making the hustle even harder. 1Corinthians 3:6 says "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase."

Hosea 10:12 says “ Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.” Ecclesiastes 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity. Perhaps your prayer life has dwindled a bit, perhaps you have not been monitoring your teenager's spiritual growth, maybe you have left the Sunday schoolteachers to teach your children Bible stories, maybe you have stopped going to church altogether. It is time for you and your household to seek the Lord.

The supernatural presence of God can take you beyond limits, it can uproot the presence of evil in the midst of God's children. Some of you have been told you will never succeed and this has given you a supersonic drive to succeed and prove those people wrong but the battle is not yours. So many of us have friends and family members who do not know God but when they see the raw power of God in your life, we will not have to beg them to surrender to Jesus.

We have set so many goals and resolutions over the years. But seeking and finding God should be our major focus in life, when this is done He will help you set and achieve all other goals. Then we can put all our eggs in one basket and give the basket to God.
