Four Things To Do This Christmas

I'm sure it's not news to you if I tell you now that Christmas has lost its essence. It has either become a very boring time of the year for some people or for others it is the time of the year to chase after every party, and catch up on every kind of fun in their vicinity.

Whichever way it plays out, Christmas is the best time of every year, if we'd just allow ourselves see the beauty in it. So, to make this Christmas different and memorable, here are five things you can do.

#1 Spend time with those who are most important to you: Many people spend Christmas hopping from one event to another without really spending any time with those who mean the most to them. This Christmas, make a different choice. Skip the events that cause you to spend time unnecessarily and this year, focus on what really matters- your family and your close friends.

#2 Reach out to others: Christmas is a season to give more than it is a season to receive. Don't spend this Christmas expecting gifts to be delivered to your other. Look beyond your needs to those around you who do not have as much as you do. Reach out by giving them gifts they can use; gifts that can have an impact on their lives. No matter how small it is, a gift can have a huge impacts if its satisfies a need. So, be it a drive to feed the homeless or a gift a neighbor really needs, reach out and be a blessing.

#3 Reconnect with old friends: Have you lost touch with some very good friends? This Christmas is the best time to reconnect, and catch up. Don't wait for them to reach out to you to you. Make the first move.

#4 Be grateful: Truly, Christmas is generally a happy time for many of us, but how many people take time to show gratitude for what Christmas truly represents? How many of us are truly grateful for the birth of a savior who came to the earth, knowing he'd be crucified just so we could be redeemed from our sins? We spend so much time on celebrating with the things we have acquire, we forget that we can enjoy all we have because of the freedom the birth of Christ orchestrated. Be grateful for that this Christmas. be sincerely grateful.
